Mupmupdate: Getting my shoe in the door before it closes for good. And things that make work just a little bit more tolerable, and sweeter.

Well, suffice it to say, the hiatus I've taken since really posting anything on here has been substantial. A lot has happened since my last post, notably, Kinsella has revealed himself as a con artist that should probably watch his back before T.I. figures out how much he is getting gouged. Let me see...what else...a great Chuyear's Eve party (that would have been a good post item...favorite scene: all of us counting down to 2009 not with cups of champagne, but a bottle per person). I hope everyone had a blast, including the disco ball of destiny, and the enormous radio that Greg single handedly (we think) carried down to the basement. Foti and I almost destroyed that thing putting it back behind the couch, part of it started falling out as we were lowering it down, both of started cracking up, and we almost broke the whole thing. Hmm...Superbowl party, which was great, until I almost fell asleep on a stool during the 4th quarter due to a wing and beer induced coma. I like how the things I've mentioned all have to with, or stemmed from desire for, an aircraft carrier. 6+ lbs boneless, 60 wings, 2 lg onion ring, 2 lg fries, 2 racks of ribs, 3-2L sodas, 3 floppy celery sticks for Emily.

Unfortunately, I decided, to give up fried food for lent. Have I kept this vow to a T? Not really, so far there are 2 counts of atrocious disregard in the form of fish and chips and a burger and fries. Oh, and the day right after lent started I by accident had crab rangoons at lunch, but this was not intentional. Now I am making myself hungry. Growl growl.

What else has happened...well, instead of thinking back and doing a poor job of describing past events and fun, I will move on to something else...after saying that last Friday Emily and I went to the Celtics vs. Cavs game in Boston this time and despite all the refs tried to do in the 4th quarter to fuck the Celtics, they still won, in what I think was a great game (even though Bron got called for his FIRST foul in the 4th quarter, Anderson Varejao is still a dickface, and Mo Williams was the Mike Myers to my Jaime Lee Curtis), and the guy next to me said he wanted to kick Sasha Vujacic's ass just once, and offered me peanuts. I would post the picture of Sasha Vaginaitch in this post but can't bear to look for it and really see it again. Oh screw it I'll add it. Hopefully he does go play in Europe because he "the Machine" thinks he should get paid more. Kobe probably told him that in a secret ploy to get him off the Lakers, or just get him off, or to try and make him cry on the bench again. See, I realize that comment is less effective now, because Glen Davis has screwed me over by doing the same. I still consider it valid, however, because Davis did it in response to getting what was probably an expletive strung verbal salvo from KG (I would break down also), and Vujacic did it because he got smoked by Jesus Shuttlesworth in a playoff game.

On to the next item, things that make work better. Ranked.

Truthfully, only maybe the first five are in a ranked order the rest is a laundry list of things I use to get through the day. For the record, I high suggest the rap website, it is hilarious. Occasionally I'll get to watch youtube videos or some other stuff if appropriate. For example, yesterday was fruitful in that department.

Dig dug also told me to check out a youtube clip of a goal from a soccer game the other day...then I sent it to my boss. He said"'thank you", to which Kinsella said, "that would have been awesome if he wrote back, "thank you. you're fired." I appreciated that.

I've been sort of working on this post all day, as my progess has been interrupted by both actual work and also my leaving for lunch at 1:45 (was starving, usually eat at 12:45ish), and now I'm home writing this but have to go back soon. I was ordered to, well, asked by one of the post docs where she could get large drinks for everyone, and someone said "alcoholic?" (it is our alcohol meeting at 4:30pm today and we are also celebrating someone's bday, and someone else, an undergrad, is bringing cake!), and the postdoc said no, so I suggested tea, and now I am bringing a bag full of tea to the lab so she can make it by running hot water through the coffee machine. Ingenius, that's me, not. Wasn't planning on eating all these Wheat Thins on top of the leftover chinese food...close to bottom of box...guess I should just finish it off.

Alright, I should be getting back to the lab, this is turning out to be like a day log. Also, 5 starters/bench-to-starter, players missing for tomorrow's game against the Miami Dwayne Wade I mean Heat? That's not looking so hot.

I also found this website last week: raw and awesome, rawsome taxin' the pross.

It got me thinking, if I had to choose cast members from movies such as Rookie of the Year, Sandlot, Mighty Ducks 1,2,3, 3 Ninjas, Hook, The Big Green, Little Giants (okay so I am struggling to come up with stuff after 3 Ninjas and Hook), and replace them with people I know, how would this semi-draft turn out. Maybe I'll think about this more and actually place people in roles later. Feel free to offer up any suggestions based on personality traits, semblance, or blatant absurdity of the matchup (ie: Foti getting the captain america shot glass, because he stands for freedom, equality, and the american spirit).

It is (was, now) time.

Real post time: 11:33am on 3.10.2009

DISCLAIMER: this entry was started way back a few months ago, before the Cavs/Celtics game, where the Celtics got ruined in Cleveland. My intentions were to stage a semi comeback, until Rodio knocked on the door excited for the Aircraft Carrier and dashed it all to pieces, well, I helped dash it to pieces too when I started drinking and eating chips and then Mr. Rochette showed up... So, the following is what I got started on, and I didn't feel like erasing it all, here it is in all its not glory.

Rather than lamenting and pretending to feel bad about the obscenity of time it's been since my last post I'm going to just jump right into the pool here.

Why the hell have football commentators started calling pass completions strikes? Are there not enough terms to use in the game of football to describe a completed pass that they have to start using baseball terms? Let's see, what else could get stolen...turnover on downs: strikeout. Sack: hit by pitch. Hammered at the goal line: caught stealing. Pass completion could be referred to as on base percentage... Fair catch: sac fly. Okay, so maybe it's not that funny but I'll leave it up to you to generate the most absurd.

There are only two ways to throw strikes:

But when the night is falling And you cannot find the light If you feel your dream is dying Hold tight You've got the music in you

Well, it's been a while since I've written anything here, as Deeg let me know today...

Matthew: so whats up with the poor updating frequency of the blog?
me: i know man i was thinking about that the other day
Matthew: you have a responsibility ya know

Also, I found this today: http://despair.com/blogging.html

Let's see, well, since I last got on here a lot has happened...so as life happens to go. (Currently: New Radicals - You Get What You Give)

I had a soccer game tonight against a team comprised mostly of players I played with last season. Luckily, we won, although it probably should have been a tie since the other team got totally robbed at one point by the ref (keeping mouth shut...as I did on the field...). So that was great, now Pulp Fiction is on over here, and I've chosen to opt out of watching the whole thing and writing here instead, and in doing so also putting off taking a much needed shower. I'm just going to continue to back track in time briefly with some key highlights, in no particular order just FYI.

I got a new iPod Touch, finally, brought it back to the store again after it would not restore for the 2nd time (second instance, probably 60th time). I swear I have bad luck with electronics nothing ever works the first time, I should be a tester of some sort I could sniff out, without even trying, defective products, just by using them for a week or two. Let us remember that sophomore year my iPod mini also shat the bed after a month or two and I got a replacement for that also. I cannot believe it happened again. I asked the guy at the store-Mike-if other people have been coming in with the same problem, and his reply was, "Well, when you make millions of something, there's bound to be defective ones." I not only wanted to slap him in the head with my closed fist but wanted to tell him off. I did neither, because he perfectly replaced my screen cover and I was astonished at the effort he put into that, so I let that comment slide. Thanks to Emily for letting me steal her ride to get to the Apple store and saving me a who knows how long bus wait and ride!

Speaking of technology I think I probably screwed up Emily's computer last night in trying to fix her BSOD problem. After some extensive googling and reading about the error message she got before her computer rebooted, I found that it has to do with her wireless card, and that many people have had the same problem, and that intel decided to jump ship on that particular product model and has not created any new driver updates or software updates since like 2006. Asses. Anyway, I mem sticked the userguide, software update, and driver update over to her and installed all that and although her computer didn't restart or BSOD while I was using it and being on the internet (through magic), her computer won't connect to her own wireless internet now and she has to steal from someone who named their network 'christmas'--which isn't all bad, but it certainly isn't a solution. This happened to me for a while, when my wireless card (it's a USB stick, and yes, it is G-HETTO) used it's own program to run the wireless, and was intereferring with windows running the wireless. I had to tinker for a while if I remember, and employ a one "Foofa" for assistance. I hope I can get that figured out for her otherwise I'm going to feel like both an idiot and a failure. No pressure!

I can't believe it's only one more week until I go home again for the holidays. I'm looking forward to it, but have some holiday (by that I mean all) shopping to do. I've just been lazy its definitely my fault that I haven't gotten anything yet, I mean I know what I'm getting for everyone but I just haven't gotten my lazy ass out to do the actual purchasing. Also, I'd have to bring it all back home with me on the plane...not fun...so I think I will plan on doing shopping when I have a car at home. Hopefully that works out and everything everywhere is not sold out. (Currently: Akon feat. Lil Wayne - I'm So Paid...is he not off his rocker right now?) Speaking of the holidays, Chuyear's Eve Party is in effect (thank you to Sir Rodio for the name) and I hope that the turnout is good otherwise it will be Foof and Til and I and too much Andre for a pack of wolves riding wild horses. I'm excited, will decorate, and clean, and it will be awesome because I'll be the only one here and won't have to worry about the heat being at 75, and the entirety of the previous post about the living situation. At. All.

Can we talk about the Celtics for a minute (or the next 45) and how ridunk they are? I'm going to the game Friday against the Hornets and I am...EXCITED. Stein has them ranked #1 (through his ridiculous number crunching) in the power rank this week, undoubtedly I think he said, which is the shit, because they are awesome. Also, Simmons reamed on the Lakers about them having an easier schedule yadda yadda read the ramblings from the other day yadda yadda and I was happy about that too. OH, two other things, why is Scal playing more that Leon lately? It's easy to get props when no one has any expectations of you. And also, holy shit did anyone else see Big Baby cry after getting snapped at by KG? Dear god man! What did KG say? Given, KG would be scary as shit if he was angry, he's scary as shit when he's happy, but Big Baby sh'mon.

Gingerbread glory happened last weekend also, resulting in, through Emily's effort mostly, a barn with hay on the inside, a skating pond with trees, a fence, and some sheep, and some more hay bales piled next to said barn, and a bonfire (not next to hay or barn), and a really long pathway to a side door to the barn. Then things got a little crazy, and a sentinel from the matrix invaded, next to a killer cow that had a cone for a tail|ass and what else...there was some sort of pole out there also... Other creations included a pool with gingerbread men who, if jumped in all at once would have drained the entire pool I am sure, they were huge, a skate park with halfpipe, an aztec pyramid complete with worshippers and fornicating gummy candy men, mm...Carlo's cross sectional house (walls are necessary here, maybe not in Trinidad), Jon's alamo, and yeah a lot of other stuff including Lisa's battery canon. Perhaps the biggest surprise was what I will call Skoops' GITMO interrogation chamber with caved in wall on one side windowless box house. Enough said.

I bought lottery tickets tonite since the drawing is at 11:24pm and the jackpot is friggin $170,000,000. How ridiculous would that be? My dad would not work anymore. I'd get my mom that Jag I promised her when I was 8. Both my brother's college would be paid for. I would never work again (probably not at anything I didn't love at least). I would also probably be on a plane after the Chuyears Eve party for a few weeks and pay off whoever's employer to have them come with me. I can dream right? The thing I think that surprised me a bit is that I'd totally stay here in terms of location of living. Maybe not in this house as much as I love it, but in the area. The only way I'd stay in this house is if I could ship all the other members of this living establishment to other places around the globe. In fact, I would pay for that, as long as they did not come back to live here again. How mean am I? Wow. Wish me luck! (Currently: Ciara/Afrika Bambaataa - 1,2 Step remix)

The Burren totally redeemed itself in terms of place in my life this past weekend also. This band Acme Music trio..I think, played all 90s covers, and did a great job with them, so that was awesome, and they had x-mas lights in there also which was cool, and I had a great time. The next day was filled with watching tv for like 8 hours and culminated in KFC. Good lord KFC. I haven't had that in forever, and nearly died I think. Was it worth it? Give me chicken. Now.

Medical device? Give me a break.

I had mag muff this morning and it made my day completely. Funny how one little thing can set your day off on the right course. Well, to be honest it was the company, the sandwich was a bonus don't get me wrong here. The rest of the day was spent pretty relaxed, although, I had maybe 3 hours worth of experiments to do in the morning but that was actually good because it took me to around noon, then I killed time/updated data and figures until like 1:30pm and then had lunch. That took me all the way to 2:45ish...and from there I just did absolutely nothing, except for plan the party, until 5. Well, semi lie, I did spend time setting up all my treatments for tomorrows experiments, but that cumulatively probably only took a half hour. Thennnnn...came home, made dinner, sent out some emails, and went to soccer.

I need to spend some more time reading...I have two books I am in the middle of and it's been so long since I've looked at them I probably should just start over. Go figure, I was flying on the reading front, and then bought 3 books, and then got another one from home, and haven't read jack since then. You know what it is? PROBABLY THIS BLOG. Also--I don't really sit in the living room and read anymore since yeah, I just can't. And also, my bed isn't really conducive for any activity other than sleeping. Well, you know what I mean haaaaaaaaaaaaa. (Currently: John Legend - Everybody Knows...dig this)

Ooh--google has a 411 service now, which I have not yet used but am psyched about (for absolutely no reason, I hardly ever use 411, and these days everyone has internet on their phone anyway so it takes like 15 seconds to find a phone number and an address so it's sort of a waste). That parenthesis was a totally pretentious comment and assumption about people in general. I apologize already.

The frequency of my ice cream eating, pizza eating (I ordered my first late nite pizza post drinking in an long time the other nite, I'm back!), and physical activity skipping, has gone up dramatically. I blame the cold weather, combined with my lazyness, and being comfortable at the time of consumption and decision making against doing physical activity, for this emerging trend. (Currently: Dark Captain Light Captain - Jealous Enemies)

Speaking of eating...I am now having an english muffin with peanut butter (chunky), this after dry cereal, this after dinner before game. Is it warranted? Probably not...at least it's maybe a little baby bit healthy. I'll just have to work out some tomorrow. GOD I have to get my ass moving with gifts...shitnugs. Ooh, muffin done. By the way the other day I had, in this sequence, Half, about, my bag of robust russet Cape Cod chips, a quarter of my Everthing But The... Ben and Jerry's, and then chased it with bacon. I am disgusting.

Time for a shower. I need to get motivated for these again. My idea last week was to rehash all the memories from college that stick out and write about them, but change everyone's names to those of movie characters that fit people's personalities (or not, but are simply just funny), but that will take substantial work, and I will need to think about this for a while. Anyway, I am out. (Currently: The Script - Before the Worst...yes I have been hitting the free music Tuesday tunes pretty hard)

Some days

As I sit down to write this my cheeks are cold and I just realized it's only in the 11th hour and not the 12th. Incredible, my ability to tell time.

Some days you are the dog and some days you are the hydrant. The jury in my mind was still out on this for a while but at present, upon recent reconvening, it was a hydrant day overall. It was a close decision that slipped in the end. (Currently: John Mayer - Something's Missing, yes, I did finally change playlists, and yes, this did come on random) Also, you ever have one of those days where you just sort of want to be alone and in your own space? It was one of those too, I think. So, what I did was take a walk. It's a good thing my vest is pretty warm, and I left my newly acquired limp behind.

There are a lot of question marks going on in my head and life right now, and, thankfully and perhaps surprisingly, most do not have anything to do with my near future. (wow, that was a good line, I should pay more attention to this song's lyrics: "I can't be sure that this state of mind is not of my own design") Anyway, I think I maybe am too demanding of...everything, which probably leads to unnecessary feelings and thoughts of inadequacy. My brain just totally died. The walk helped, and I think I spent most of it thinking about what to write about here...which I guess helped anyway with organizing what's going on up top. But I've since forgotten everything so...I dunno. Maybe if things didn't stick they weren't that important anyway. It's kind of like when you plan on talking to someone about something and you think of all the things you want to say but then only some actually makes it out of your head, and you just sort of assume what comes out is what you actually needed to say. Part of me doesn't buy that though. It's like when you're talking to someone and trying really hard not to think of what you want to say back while they are talking and prepare ammunition for the response--that would be in the same vein as the assuming what comes out is what you needed to say idea. That was a bit of a tangent.

Someone stole my GQ for this month I swear to friggin Paul Pierce in the 4th quarter. It comes in a plastic bag, for Pierce's sake (not Antonio), so someone had to actively take it, and just decide right then that there was no way they were going to flip through it carefully and then put it back on my doorstep. Assholes, whoever it was. I'm not even going to go into that (the asshole category that is, it's too huge right now). Now I have to go buy that one (because I want to read it) for fucking a third of what I pay for the whole damn year's worth of issues. What a travafuckinshamockery.

I don't like to think of myself as a bottler (bottler of anger, for those of you not familiar with ze term), I think maybe sometimes I do, though, but then again maybe I am just bottling thoughts and some of them are upsetting and some of them stressful. You ever just play out situations in your mind, past or future, despite how unlikely they are to occur in the way you pictured it, or at all for that matter? I think I do that way too much, and mildy to the extreme in every scenario, and I drive myself crazy. This happens frequently in the morning when I do the obligatory 'zone out' for a minimum of 15 to 20 minutes in front of the computer. Drives me fucking crazy. It honestly, depending on what goes through my head, my stomach turns. Now, this probably sounds totally batshit bonkers because I have in no way even implied what I think about. And I'm not going to. I keep thinking that life just gets more and more interesting (read: drives me crazy, in good and bad ways, and maybe just gets more fun, I'm not sure yet, bad use of parentheses I know) as you meet more and more people you have minimal to no social base or previous legitimate knowledge of (ending with a prep, shit!), but I've determined it's both fun and also can be nutty trying to figure out where people came from and all that stuff. It's crazy that you just have on idea what you might find, whether disappointing or not.

Anyway, what a foul attempt at a post. It's late, I'm outta here, and glad that the Celtics boned the Pacers, hard.

And so...it begins...again

The week that is, as it is again Monday tomorrow, unceremoniously coming and trampling through my Sunday. I would contend that Monday begins maybe around 4pm on Sunday, depending on how your Sunday stacks up in the grand scheme of things. Makes me both sad and angry that it gets to me like that. I thought about making an honest stab at taking back my Sundays a while ago, and by while I think I mean like a year or close to it. Have I succeeded? It's sort of hard to tell, a lot has changed since I made that plan.

Currently: John Legend - Everybody Knows

In a bit of a somber mood right now, just took out the trash in the rain, that's enough to start that feeling I think, especially when you're the only one that makes any effort to do the trash. I think I can honestly say, without a doubt, that except for one occasion where the trash was actively being discussed before it got taken out by two of my roommates, I have done it every single week since I've lived here with this current group of people.

It's rant time, on that note. That, I do not think, is a sentence. So I got home from the Thanksgiving Day holiday Saturday night after what could best be described as a grueling 5.5 or 6 hour trip from home (I had a layover in Baltimore, and took the Silverline, to the Redline, and walked home from Davis. It's only an hour direct from home usually). I expected the house to be empty, which would have been awesome, but it was not, as evidenced by lights, other the one I left on when I left, bein on. Strike 1. Actually that's not even strike 1, that is more like strike a billion, but anyway, while we're on that the first strike really should have been when I got home from work Wednesday before the holiday. Our front door was fucking open, again, not just left unlocked, but wide fucking open. Before a holiday. With everyone traveling. Suffice it to say if I had not been the last person to leave, thank god I was, and also that no one stole all our shit already (since this isn't the first time I've found the door open), that door would have been open the whole fucking time we were all gone. Un. Real. Cue angry email from me to all my roommates. Cue no one responding taking responsibility. Children. And by my writing all this here, yes, it is apparent, as it should be, that I do not give a shit in the least if any of them read this. So, strike one billion seventy-five. I get home Saturday night, obviously the mail hasn't been collected or brought in or even looked through (remember, someone is home already, and I know it hasn't been looked through because the kid who was home before me had mail in there regarding attempted package delivery...asshole). I put my stuff down and find the kitchen a war zone, as if this person used a different pot for each meal and left them all out. I literally could not tell what was clean and what was dirty. In addition, there's oil, vinegar, food stains, noodles, food on the floor, all this shit just everywhere. It's like animals live here. At this point I have not even put down my bag yet in my room (I went to throw out junk mail and saw the kitchen), and started to wipe the counter for a second, then stopped, and whole heartedly decided in my head, "I fucking hate living here."

Oh wait, I almost forgot, before I even threw the mail away--I get to the top of the stairs and its hot as sin in the living room (I set the thermostat to hold at 60 while everyone was gone) and I went to the thermostat and ITS SET AT 75 DEGREES. You read that right, 75, fucking, degrees. HELD there because the hold function was on. No, we do not live in fucking Bermuda, no, it is not necessary, no, I sure as hell do not give a fuck in the least that you are from California, this is the northeast, you chose to come here, but on a sweatshirt you numbskulled fuckwit dickbag. (Currently: Coldplay - VLV) It's actually remarkable, the stupidity with which things are dealt and that I put up with (not a sentence, again, I do not think--certainly not a well constructed one). So I turned it back down to match the schedule that is set on the thermostat. Also, someone fucked with what day of the week it was, I found out today that the thermostat, in thermostat land, thinks it's Friday, it is Sunday. Further evidence of messing with thermostat present. Let's get this straight, though, it's not like I am king of the thermostat or house temperature. I set up the program on the thing based on what we used to have it set at when non retards lived here, simply because I knew how to do it. I sent out more than one email stressing not changing the temperature higher at whim constantly because the turning on and off is what drives the energy bill up. That said, I wrote that the program can get changed based on how people feel about how warm it is (assuming that people would get like oh, hey, not all of us are home at the same time etc, let's see how the program works for a week). Wrong. Obviously. Whether its just blatant disrespect or utter mind blowing stupidity I do not know. But before even a week was up, the temperature got changed. I cannot wait for this months heating bill, it will be astronomical, and I almost want to refuse to pay for the extravagance. And if anyone complains about how much it is, I have a sock full of coins that has their face on it waiting for them in my room right now. In fact, two of them. Think of it like boxing their ears, except with heavy blunt objects that will hurt like hell on contact and result in a resounding yet satisfying dull clang as it smashes faces. That was mean, and kind of disturbing.

You know what else, the fact that peopel are changing the temperature for themselves is just too perfect. People here just do whatever they want for themselves all the time. Without a doubt. The temperature changing just fits perfectly, "I am the only one home, lets make everyone cater to ME" even though we all front the fucking bill. We need a house meeting, seriously, and you can count on me writing an email and using the word mandatory and then no one responding. Assholes. Have I lost faith in people in general, only somewhat, and I think I can tell what people will be like that now after this experience. (Currently: Bruce Springsteen - Streets of Philadelphia, yes, I know, it's on a playlist with the others from last time). I hate, sorry, sorely dislike and lose respect, for everyone.

I like to think I can put up with a lot of shit, and see the best in people, or hope to at least, and take things as they come (that's not to say I'll just take shit and bottle it, I just deal with what's not particularly important, maybe that is bottling, choosing battles? who know), but at that very moment I decided this: F*K. THIS. SH*T. Not sure why I bleeped that since I've been swearing from the start of this post... I called my mom then and told her about all this, and she knows about the door thing already, and past occasions of this, and just went off, so I thank her for listening--I can always count on her for that.

Basically, that is the deal now, after living here for as long as I have, and it being great, the best even at times, now I cannot stand it. I really hate to say that, and admit that it has come to that. I mean it's not like I come home and want to just off myself every day because I come back to this place, place being home. There are so many great things about it here (attempt at convincing myself that my living situation isn't that bad, which it isn't), great space, it's new, it's nice and all that and all the fixings, it's just the people making it sucky. So don't go thinking I'm a totally spoiled up on my high horse ass hole. I may seem to be, I'll admit it, by the amount I'm bitching. But, I do not like think I am wrong for asking or expecting a higher standard of living from people that I liked to consider my peers (which I was wrong about, in terms of maturity, there I go sounding like a prick again). Either way, I live in a safe place, just, flare ups are now becoming things that make me want to explode at people, although I don't think I ever would (it's just not effective)--but that also does not mean I'm just going to stand for it.

Well, the plan is to get out of here in May (hence the previously used "i cannot wait until may" gchat post, and live close to here with Jeremy--although I haven't seen or heard from the guy in like a month... Anyway I hope we get something nice worked out and I have a home not just a house with people living in it and hiding out in their rooms all the time. Some people I know now have that type of situation, away from Tufts, and I think that is great. At first, here, the convenience with work, not having to move, etc, was great and I enjoyed it (after the initial adjusting to everyone leaving after sr year and having to walk through a dead campus during the summer, thinking of that still makes my stomach turn a little), but now I'm kind of done with it, ready to move on, but sad that I have to leave this house. Also, I really want to be close to Davis/Porter for a number of reasons including prox. to work, Jeremy and I really like the area, and prox. to people I want to be near. (Currently: MGMT - Time To Pretend, yeah, I listen to the same stuff over and over).

Let's move on to a brief update on other things (read: end of rant, stop being angry, try to be happy again). The Celtics have won 8 straight, which is preeeeetty sweet. Game against the Magic tomorrow, I had half thoughts of wanting to go and see exactly how huge Dwight Howard is, but that isn't going to work out though, which is fine, that's why I have a TV. Hello comma splice. (Currently: Jill Scott - A Long Walk)

Tonight I went to the Nutcracker with Emily, which was superb, even though the place was riddled with children (the good kind, not my rommates). The kids were cute, and said some funny stuff while the show as going on. I guess it's a good thing I like kids otherwise I'd imagine it would have been annoying. Emily made a good point though, as some people moved during intermission because they were sitting in front of some kids, that if you go to a Sunday show (earlier than Saturday shows), there are going to be kids there, duh. Afterwards we had some PF Changs which hit the spot since we were both starving. Besides the crappy weather (non stop rain for the entire day pretty much) and getting the equivalent of drawn and quartered by parking (although it was nice to be directly across the street from the Opera House) I had a great evening and hope she thinks the same.

So, I feel better than I did a bit ago when I started talking about Mondays, even though I do have to be in early tomorrow, the Monday after a holiday, at 8am for a meeting. I have some testing to do starting around 9:30am or so, so I hope the meeting is over by then and that I do not have to spend a ton of time showing graphs and things to the guest lecturer (even though I would not mind, given that he provided us with my mutant test subjects for free, when those things cost like a K each to buy).

I sort of wish my night didn't end so soon, but I know it's Sunday, it sucks, and that's life now (compared to life in college, even though I feel increasingly weird saying that as if it were only yesterday, when in my mind I know that in fact it is not, and am slowly and maybe more acceptingly, coming to terms with that). Well, it's 11:15pm and sadly I'm debating just calling it quits right now and getting ready for bed. (Currently: Jason Mraz - I'm Yours). With that said...

Life=not what is used to be, in some bad ways, and in some good ways...I guess my weighing those out is what matters most. (Currently: The Kooks - She Moves In Her Own Way)

Late night update

The results of super secret project from frfxshire are spectacular, top invite to any event I have ever attended I think in terms of obvious time put in, quality craftswomanship, and adherence to thematic elements. What comes close in my mind, I guess, is my ticket to the Celtics vs. Pistons game last year during the playoffs when I sat behind the basket--and that was only a stiff piece of paper (justttt kidding, although that ticket rules, I in no way intend to devalue the awesomeness of previously mentioned invite).

We won our soccer game tonight 5-4 in a bit of a nail biter at the end, lets just say we barely made it out of there. I did score though, which was fun, even though it should have been two goals since I shot it right at the goalie on a point blank shot (granted, it was a ball in the air I took down, and then he closed me down pretty quickly, but that's no excuse for the dreadful shot).

My iPod Touch's Safari has stopped working. What. The. Fuck. If it's not one thing it's another, and I just went to the store, at least I have music and pictures on there. I tried restarting it several times but I don't know, its totally whacked. When I try and open Safari that circular loading circle dealie shows up on the home screen after a few seconds and then it kicks to the hold menu where you have to slide to open. Cool, didn't think I'd get to look at my wallpaper that much. And by that I mean, whole heartedly, not cool.

A few people contacted me from home asking if I'd be around over the holiday, and I said yes, until Saturday when I leave to return back to here. I think I'm supposed to meet up with some people on Friday maybe? The thing is, I want to see the new Bond with the fam (even though my brothers both already saw it...way to think about holding out, guys), and also one potential hang out is with people I have literally not spoken a word to since 2003. That will be less than smooth. I should probably have a better outlook on this. Beyond the hey oh great you are still alive conversation, maybe I should consciously try and push further and actually have a legitimate conversation. I will thusly try this tactic.

I'm also supposed to cook with my brother for the day of turk, we'll see how that goes. Apparently I'm in charge of stuffing and a pot roast of some sort (beef). I'm kind of excited actually, I do like cooking, I'm just not so sure of my skills in that department, but I like to think I know what I'm doing generally.

So, work tomorrow, dinner after (yay!), and then off to the airport. I may not be posting for the next few days, so have a great Thanksgiving woo! Oh, and GO CELTICS!
